SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Sakina Itoo announced on Thursday that all examinations will be conducted on time and in accordance with the academic calendar, despite disruptions caused by conflict, heatwaves, and floods, according to details received by The Chenab Times.
Speaking to reporters, Itoo stated that students’ studies were severely impacted by the initial war-like situation, followed by a heatwave and recent flood-like conditions. Some schools in both regions were damaged by floods and natural calamities.
“But as far as exams are concerned, I want to make it clear that all exams will be held on time,” Itoo said.
The department is seeking suggestions from stakeholders on compensating for academic losses this year due to these circumstances. Itoo noted that last year, the academic session was reversed from March to November-December, a major challenge that has now been largely streamlined.
