DODA, March 29: An awareness camp focused on youth engagement and empowerment in the Animal Husbandry sector was organized on Sunday in Village Shaie Arnora, Doda district.
The programme, conducted by the Animal Husbandry Department in collaboration with Krishi Udyamis associated with local Kissan Khidmat Ghar (KKG), aimed to sensitize local youth and farmers about various government initiatives and schemes.
According to details received by The Chenab Times, the camp saw active participation from the local populace, who were informed about schemes designed to promote employment generation, strengthen rural livelihoods, and foster entrepreneurship within the animal husbandry domain.
Officials present at the event provided detailed insights into several key government schemes. These included the Integrated Dairy Development Scheme (IDDS), Integrated Poultry Development Programme (IPDP), Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), Integrated Feed and Fodder Development Scheme (IFFD), Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM), and the National Livestock Mission (NLM). Information regarding eligibility criteria, the quantum of financial assistance available, and the procedures for application was disseminated to encourage broader outreach and participation.
The awareness camp served as a significant platform for educating and motivating rural youth to explore self-employment opportunities. Participants were encouraged to leverage available government support systems to build sustainable livelihoods in the Animal Husbandry sector.
The attendees expressed appreciation for the initiative, highlighting their keen interest in availing the benefits offered by the various schemes. They conveyed their aspirations to improve their socio-economic conditions through these programs.
