‘Mule Died due to Electric Shock after 33KV line falls on cattle-shed’ claims it’s owner in Thathri

33KV line falls on a cattle-shed in Thathri; One Mule died, no human life loss

Thathri, April 12: Today in Thathri town of Doda district, 33KV Electricity line falls on a cattle-shed at 08:15 Sunday morning resulting loss of one Mule which died on spot and other animals rescued safely. While the eye witness claims that other animals also got the Electricity shock, the one mule which died was touched with the wall where a water pipe closed it. He said that the the line firstly when insulator started sparking, he shout to the PDD linemen which was 200m near him but they didn’t listen. After he called his neighbor near PDD Office Thathri and lineman cuts the power line. But it took around 10 minutes, till then one mule died and other got hurt with electric shock.

When the linemen came on spot at 10:00 am, the mule owner stopped them. According to our correspondent, the mule owner was asking for compensation but the PDD official didn’t responded and both parties went to Police Station Thathri, after the police started investigation in the said case.

This is not the first time when these lines falls down, as per locals the insulators which are fixed there—are broken and old. When our correspondent questions about the insulators to PDD officials they said that we are lacking the material. We receive the new type of insulators which is not for these types of poles. Also, the PDD Department at Thathri lacks the men power due to which the faults on the lines is not fixed quickly.
