Fake & Fabricated News On Social Media Misguiding The General Public
In context to the fictitious and manipulated story of a DEPUTY DIRECTOR RANKED OFFICER escaping from Srinagar to Poonch. Dr. Syed Haider Shah, Deputy Director ISM (Health) Kashmir (J&K) said, “I would like to inform all that I’m a doctor, healthcare worker, and presently serving as Deputy Director of ISM (Health) Kashmir. I’m having an additional charge of two districts namely Poonch and Rajouri, Since both of these districts falls under jurisdiction of my work area where all the doctors and paramedical staff of ISM department reports to me and I’m the sole responsible for the functionality, operations and performance of department in these districts.”
“Government of India do permits me legally to travel to these districts to streamline the department and regulate outcomes especially in these critical times of COVID-19 where many doctors and other staff of my department are deployed in quarantine centres and other COVID awareness programmes, As per the government order no D.O 40-10/2020-DM-1(A) by home secretary Mr Ajay Bhalla on 11th May 2020 there is no ban on the official movement of any medical professional and healthcare worker then how my movement could be labelled as escape?,” he asked.
“In order to the ensure smooth development of filed staff and dealing with various departmental affairs I sought departmental permission with it’s copy sent to Director ISM and Divisional Commissioner and left srinagar in my official govt. vehicle. After making proper entries at the checkpoints where ever required (which can be verified) l reached Rajouri and then Surankote (Poonch),” he added.
While speaking on the allegations about the use of departmental vehicle from Srinagar to Poonch, he said, “Furthermore, how is it possible to escape a four wheeler departmental vehicle from Srinagar to Poonch approx 500 kilometres on national highway, that means all police department is sleeping in all districts on multiple vigilant check points. But the story was misinterpreted and wrongly propagated, not shared the actual facts hiding the department and the officer credentials that I am from health department and a medical professional. I strongly condemn such so called reporters or journalists who promote fictitious news to get the limelights for their personal benefits. I have also submitted my representation on all this issue to the worthy Deputy Commissioner Poonch Rahul Yadav.”
“I am ready to give my full cooperation to the administration but I humbly request that these kind of immature, blackmailer and professed journalists should be taken on a very serious note and a strict legal action should be taken against them as they’re spreading misinformation among the general public,” he added.
Dr Syed Haider shah told to media that he had attached the copy of his representation to the worthy Deputy Commissioner Poonch and the copy of central government’s order in which restrictions on medical professionals and para-medical personals was flagged.
