After finding him guilty of raping a juvenile girl eight years ago, a local court sentenced him to ten years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) on Tuesday.
The convict was also fined Rs 9,000 by Sumita Jena, the judge of a special POCSO court in Mayurbhanj.
According to Special Public Prosecutor Abhinav Kumar Pattnaik, the court ordered the District Legal Services Authority to pay Rs 4 lakh in compensation to the survivor, who was 15 years old at the time of the occurrence.
