Police solve burglary case in J&K’s Kishtwar; two arrested

After a complaint regarding a theft incident was registered by Jammu and Kashmir police in Kishtwar, the police arrested two thieves and retrieved the stolen items from their possession.

In a statement issued to The Chenab Times, the police said that on a written complaint lodged by one Aashiq Ali, son of Ghulam Nabi Wani and other residents of Binoon Jawlapur, stating therein that during the intervening night of 25-06-2022, some unknown burglars barged into their house and three shops and decamped with cash and electronic/household items.

Acting on the complaint, a case under FIR No. 148/2022 U/S 457/380 IPC was registered at P/S Kishtwar and investigation was taken up.

Meanwhile, SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Batt JKPS constituted a special team led by PSI Vinay Sharma under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs Kishtwar Vishal Gupta JKPS.

During the course of investigation, SIT rounded up several suspects and finally succeeded in arresting the thieves involved in the said burglary case.

The accused persons are identified as Irshad Ahmed son of Jan Mohd and Irshad Ahmed son of Mohd Hayat, both residents of Kahara District Doda, who during interrogation confessed their involvement in the execution of the crime and stolen items, viz., six Android mobile phones, one keypad mobile phone, one digital camera, one laptop bag and other items were recovered accordingly.

Further investigation is going on and some more recoveries in other theft cases are expected.
