As the rift in the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee continues, the newly appointed JKPCC chief, Vikar Rasool Wani, issued a show cause notice to an Azad loyalist and congress leader, Randeep Bhandari, on Sunday.
In the show cause notice issued by JKPCC chief to Randeep Bhandhari, a copy of which lies with The Chenab Times, it reads, “Whereas, you have been found involved in spreading false and baseless propaganda against the Congress Party. Whereas you are using social media platform and other means of communication to tarnish the image of Congress party.”
The notice further reads, “Hence, you are hereby asked to explain your position within three days from the from the issuance of the this notice as to why the disciplinary action should not be taken against you.”
The notice is signed by Vikar Rasool Wani and copied to Rajni Patil, AICC Incharge, J&K & Ladakh.
Sources told The Chenab Times that Bhandari had criticised the Wani for “standing with the people” who burnt the effigy of Ghulam Nabi Azad some months ago.
A screenshot from a group chat shows that Bhandari further added a message saying, “Paise se aap ohda khareed saktay ho, izat nahi.” (You can buy a position with money, not respect).
Adding, “We are with Ghulam Nabi Azad.”

The Chenab Times directly spoke to Randeep Bhandhari over a phone call to confirm the messages posted by him in the group chat, where he confirmed that the messages were posted by him.
“We can’t tolerate the insult of our leader Ghulam Nabi Azad,” he told The Chenab Times.
