The People’s Democratic Party unit in Kishtwar has held a meeting to finalise the arrangements for the tour of party president and former CM Mehbooba Mufti. The meeting, called by the party’s District President Ishtiyaq Hussain Waza and presided over by State Secretary Sheikh Nasir Advocate, was attended by senior party functionaries and block presidents.
While speaking in the meeting, Sheikh Nasir said that the government has issued a notice of vacation to Mehbooba Mufti out of frustration. Nasir said that every worker in the party stands with Mehbooba Mufti. He further said that Mehbooba Mufti has demanded a probe into the killing of an arrested “hybrid” militant during an operation in Shopian and that demanding a probe is not a sin.
Nasir further said that the PDP will continue to raise its voice for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and that such pressure tactics will not work.
Among others who spoke in the meeting included Ishtiyaq Waza District President, Abdul Kabir Naik Dist Vice President, Mohd Iqbal Zonal President, Abdul Kabir Butt, Mohd Munwar Butt, Mohd Saleem, Arshad Hussain Giri, Ghulam Mohd Butt, Gh. Ali, Mohd Saleem, Nazir Ahmad Lone, Khalid Molvi, Akhtar Hussain Mir, Kashif Hussain Shah, Habib ull Ah, and Ishtiyaq Hussain.
