District Development Commissioner Doda issued an order on Tuesday stating that all those licence holders have not yet uploaded their gun licences on the NDAL portal (online), which is why these licences have not been renewed yet.
According to the order—a copy of which lies with The Chenab Times—it states that some gun licence holders have expired but their licences have not been transferred to any of their legal heirs.
“Therefore, the concerned licence holders / legal heirs of licence holders are hereby
directed to submit the complete details particulars of licence holder alongwith the
photocopy of such licences in the Judicial Section of the Office of District Magistrate,
Doda within a period of 15 days, failing which no application for uploading on the online
portal and renewal / transfer of such licences shall be considered (as and when the facility
will be open) for which the gun licence holder shall be personally responsible,” it added.
