Closing ceremony of two days of 3rd District Ramban Taekwondo Championships held today at Hotel Maple, Ramban.
The championship was held under the emblem “My Youth, My Pride” and was supervised by Danish Manzoor (International Taekwondo Athlete and Fit India Ambassador), who was appointed as an observer by the J&K Taekwondo Association. It was organised by the District Ramban Taekwondo Association under the aegis of the J&K Taekwondo Association (JKTA). The said event was sponsored by Shiblie Construction & Fabrication, Caketown Banihal, T.S. Tent House, Om Parkash Abrol And Sons, R.A. Handloom Banihal, SAR Coaching Institute Ramban, and United Printing Press.
The competition was comprised of all age divisions, with the youngest age division (Pee Wee) included. The final day witnessed a massive display of combative skills between the senior and junior athletes in both male and female categories. More than 100 players participated in different weight categories. The championship was closed off with a demonstration of taekwondo fights by young boys and girls from different clubs.
The Chief Guest of the Closing Ceremony was Haji Sajad Shaheen (District President, JKNC Ramban), accompanied by Mohd Taskeen Wani (Senior Journalist) as Guest of Honor. He was received by Sohib Masroor (President, District Ramban Taekwondo Association).
While speaking on the auspicious occasion, he congratulated all the medalists and participants for taking part in the said championship. He and the other dignitaries distributed medals among all the medalists, and moments of honour were given to the coaches and referees as well.
On this occasion, special guests included Mufti Khursheed Alam, Mohd Tazeem Wani, Prof. Bahar Ahmad Mir, Arvind Satti, Mohd Saleem Bhat, Zakir Ahmad Wani, Kaiser Hamid Shiekh, and Muzzafar Ahmad Wani.
The technical team was led by Mohsin Rafiq Wani (Treasurer, DRTA), along with all the officials, to make this event technically fair for every participant.
