On Thursday, three leaders were expelled out of the Democratic Azad Party (DAP), which is led by Ghulam Nabi Azad.
The trio was expelled out for engaging in “anti-party activities,” according to a statement from DAP general secretary Rajinder Singh Chib.
“Chairman DAP Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad has expelled Shri Tara Chand, Dr. Manohar Lal & Shri Balwan Singh, from the party with immediate effect for anti-party activities,” Chib said in the statement.
The move comes months after Chand had left the Congress to join Azad and was being seen as the party’s face in the Hindu heartland of the Jammu region.
