3 Individuals Booked Under PSA in Kishtwar

In a resolute effort to combat anti-national activities and safeguard the youth of Kishtwar, the Kishtwar Police have taken strict measures by invoking the Public Safety Act, 1978 (PSA) against three individuals with known affiliations to banned organizations.

The individuals identified in this operation are as follows:

  1. Zahoor-UI-Hassan Kamal, widely recognized as Nikka Kamal, and the son of Wali Mohd Kamal, hails from Kamal Mohalla, Kishtwar.
  2. Touseef-Ul-Nabi, son of Ghulam Nabi Gunna, resides near Jamia Masjid, Kishtwar.
  3. Raiz Ahmed, the son of Mohd Ramzan, comes from Sounder Dachhan, Tehsil Dachhan, District Kishtwar.

“These individuals had previously been subjects of various First Information Reports (FIRs) due to their involvement in activities that posed a threat to national security. The decision to impose the PSA on them is a result of their ongoing engagement in anti-national activities and their active role in influencing local youths to join proscribed organizations,” stated Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal-JKPS in a statement.

Insp Parvaiz Ahmed SHO PS Kishtwar, under the vigilant supervision of Dy. SP Hqrs Kishtwar Dr. Ishan Gupta, orchestrated the operation. “Several teams, led by dedicated officers, played pivotal roles in the apprehension of the individuals,” statement added.

“PSA orders were obtained from the competent authority,” mentioned Khalil Poswal-JKPS, the SSP in Kishtwar. “Teams consisting of PSI Rahul Sharma, PSI Anil Kumar, and PSI Surjeet Singh executed the apprehensions with precision. Subsequently, the detainees were lodged in different jails within the Jammu province.”

“The action against these individuals serves as a clear message that law enforcement agencies in Kishtwar will employ all necessary measures to counter anti-national elements and protect the region’s peace and stability. The authorities remain vigilant in their pursuit of safeguarding the interests of the nation and its citizens,” concluded Khalil Poswal-JKPS.
