Former Minister and Vice President J&K Congress, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has expressed shock and grief over the tragic fire incidents in village Harmulla Kuchal and Bhadwa Bunjwah areas of Tehsil Mugalmaidan and Bunjwah respectively in which two residential houses belonging to Imtiyaz Ahmed Khan son of Ghulam Rasool and Aashiq Hussain son of Mohd Anwar Keen at Kuchal and Bunjwah were completely gutted in devastating fire incidents due to electric short-circuit and bursting of gas cylinders on Eid day.

Expressing his deep sympathies with the families, who lost their houses, Saroori asked the administration to carry out relief and rehabilitation measures including provide free ration, tin sheets, solar lights, blankets and others to each of affected families, out of Red Cross fund and ensure proper and timely compensation to the fire victims. He urged Tehsildar Mugalmaidan and Bunjwah to submit a detailed report earliest to district administration so that compensation could be provided to them as per SDRF norms. He also said the administration should provide every possible support to the victims so that they could not face any problem.

He while terming the incidents as most unfortunate and highly painful assured the affected families of every possible help from his side in reconstruction of their residential houses and instructed the people to dump their dry fodder or hay away from their houses to avoid fire incidents in future.

Saroori also said that there is an immediate need of opening of well equipped fire service stations at tehsil level across the Chenab valley. He said that in recent years major incidents in Chatroo, Thathri, Keshwan, Mugalmaidan, Bunjwah, Warwan, Marwah, Dachhan, Padder, Nagseni, Drabshalla, Bhalessa and other parts of the district have raised a question mark on preparedness of Fire Service Department and Government in tackling the increasing fire incidents in Kishtwar and Doda districts.

Former Minister urged upon the Lieutenant Governor, G. C Murmu for early setting up of fire service stations at Chatroo, Kahara, Bunjwah, Sarthal, Thakrie, Drabshalla, Mugalmaidan, Warawan, Nagseni areas to cater the need of the people in the areas.
