During intervening night of 14/15 October a police party headed by SDPO Mendhar Zaheer Abbas Jafri assisted by SHO P/S Mendhar Manzoor Kohli established a naka at Mankote.
During checking an unknown suspected person was intercepted who tried to escape but police party on naka apprehended him and and during search police seized Narcotic (heroin like substance) which was later weighted as 01 kg from his possession.
The accused has been arrested.
In this regards case FIR No.243 /20 under relevant sections of law has been registered at police Station Mendhar and further investigation is going on.
The delivery of this consignment from across the border can’t be ruled out and police is investigating all the forward and backward linkages.
People have appreciated the role of police in recovery of huge drug consignment and curbing this menace which is spoils the youth .
