To repay around 1 crore debt, Qazigund youth puts his kidney on sale

A 28-year-old youth from Qazigund belt of South Kashmir in order to repay his debt of around Rs 1 crore has put his kidney on sale.

Subzar Ahmad Khan, a resident of Nussu village in Qazigund published an advertisement in leading newspapers on Monday in which he had mentioned that after incurring heavy losses in business, he owes people over Rs 90 lakh.

“I request everyone if anyone is in need of a kidney, he can contact me so that I can repay my debt as I am in a very distressed condition,” the advertisement reads.

While talking with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Subzar said though he told hard to repay his debt, he still owes around Rs 61 lakh to J&K Bank and Rs 30 lakh to his borrowers.

Subzar, who got married last year, her wife is also ready to sell her kidney to repay the debt of her husband.

“Subzar was a contractor besides dealing with shattering work. However, after the abrogation of Article 370 followed by Covid lockdown he incurred heavy losses,” one of his friends said. “He has no land or source of income to repay his debt. It is my humble request to all to help him out in these tough times”.
