
The “battle on” emoji seems very often on the Twitter feeds of USC groups, athletes, coaches and followers.
Generally the image stands alone, ✌, with the sender of the tweet assured that anybody who issues will be capable of interpret the which means behind the 2 fingers in a V form.
That apparently wasn’t fairly the case Jan. 15, when one such tweet from USC soccer led followers to imagine that Oklahoma quarterback Caleb Williams was about to grow to be a Trojan.
It didn’t occur. Not that day anyway.
So 17 days later, when Williams lastly did announce that he was becoming a member of his former coach, Lincoln Riley, at USC, the Trojans athletic division was very clear with its ✌ tweet.
Williams merely tweeted the image and #FightOn hashtag to go along with a video asserting his choice.
There have been “battle on” emojis aplenty throughout Trojan nation after the long-awaited announcement from the quarterback who grew to become an in a single day star after stepping in for struggling Oklahoma starter Spencer Rattler final October.
Former USC Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart tweeted to Williams: “There’s been an extended historical past of nice Qb’s to put on the Cardinal and Gold. Can’t wait so that you can set up your legacy! Welcome to @USC_FB.”
One other former USC nice, Rodney Peete, tweeted: “Battle On Child!!!! Welcome to the FAMILY!!! Everyone seems to be on Discover…We Are SC!”
Dez Bryant, a former star receiver for Oklahoma State and the Dallas Cowboys tweeted, “Trying ahead to watching you dominate!”
Williams responded: “Respect it dez! Can’t wait to dominate with this crew!”
