The foundation stone for Primary Health Centre, Gundna, which is located in the Gundna area of Doda district, was laid on Tuesday.
The demand for a PHC in Gundna first surfaced in 2007, but it remained a pipe dream for the people of the area until 2022. “This was my promise to my people that work on the PHC would begin soon,” BDC chairperson Sarshad Natnoo said. Today is a historic day, thanks to the support and hard effort of all Sarpnaches, panches, and the general public in the area, he added.
As per The Chenab Times, Natnoo, while speaking at the event stated that there was a massive conspiracy at starting this project, but in the end, the public triumphed, and the project would be completed soon, benefiting a large number of people.
He further stated that residents of this area had no choice but to flee to Doda in need of basic medical care. However, after this project is completed, residents will have more access to medical facilities.
The BDC Chairperson Sarshad Natnoo, along with Sarpanhs, Panchs, and prominent residents, placed the foundation stone.
