The Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Srinagar has announced that due to the inclement weather and waterlogging at the historic Eidgah Srinagar, the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer will be held at 9:00 am at Jama Masjid Srinagar instead. The decision was made to ensure the safety and comfort of the worshippers who were expected to attend the prayer.
In a statement released to the news agency GNS, the Anjuman Auqaf also urged the Muslim community to pay Sadaqah Fitr, which is fixed at Rs 65 per person, before the Eid prayer.
Moreover, the Anjuman Auqaf strongly demanded the unconditional release of its detained head, Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq before Eid. The statement highlights the significance of Dr Farooq’s leadership and his role in guiding the community in matters of faith and spirituality, especially during the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
