Mini Bus Overturns Near Kishtwar’s Phagumar Kandani; Several Injured

A Mini Bus bearing registration number JK-17A-5882 met with an accident earlier today, overturning while en route from Thathri to Kishtwar near Phagumar Kandani in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Initial reports from Ababeel, a rescue and relief NGO indicate that six individuals sustained normal injuries in the accident and have been promptly shifted to the District Hospital in Kishtwar for medical attention. However, other sources, including The Chenab Times, suggest that the number of passengers on board at the time of the incident may have been higher, ranging from 10 to 15 individuals.

Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kishtwar Dr Yudhveer initially told The Chenab Times that five persons were shifted to DH, while all sustains normal injuries.

According to information obtained from The Chenab Times, the injured passengers are identified as follows:

  1. Ramesh Kumar, aged 40, son of Shib Ram, resident of Chiralla.
  2. Neetu Devi, aged 25, wife of Inder Singh, resident of Chiralla.
  3. Nazia Matoo, aged 38, wife of Mubashir Hussain, resident of Kishtwar.
  4. Ravinder Singh, aged 36, son of Shadi Lal, resident of Chiralla.
  5. Sandeep Kumar, aged 35, son of Lekh Raj, resident of Chiralla.
  6. Mohd. Aslam Butt, aged 30, son of Gulam Hussain Butt, resident of Joura Thathri.
  7. Mohd Imran, aged 22, son of Bashir Ahmed Khan, resident of Phagsoo Thathri.
  8. Sajid Ahmed, aged 62, son of Sula Zargar, resident of Chanote Bhaderwah.
  9. Ehaan, aged 3, son of Wajib Hussain, resident of Chanote Bhaderwah.
  10. Ranjan Kumar, aged 25, son of Dev Raj, resident of Sarthal.
  11. Zaitoona Begum, aged 60, wife of Nazir Ahmed, resident of Kencha Kahara.
  12. Owais Rayaz, aged 11, son of Rayaz Ahmed, resident of Kencha Kahara.
  13. Saleema Begum, aged 70, wife of Ghulam Rasool, resident of Dugga Bhaderwah.

The accident occurred in the picturesque yet challenging terrain of Kishtwar, known for its winding and hilly roads. The cause of the accident is under investigation, and further details will be released as the situation unfolds.
