The Department of Agriculture, Sub-Division Marwah, achieved a significant milestone during the ongoing “Sankalp Saptah” in Kishtwar District with a successful Krishi Mahotsav held at the Block Headquarters, Marwah. This event, organized under the scheme “Alternate Agriculture System for Sustainability” as part of CAPEX-HADP, garnered the attention of numerous stakeholders, including farmers, PRI’s, BDC and DDC members, and representatives from agriculture and allied departments.
Key figures, including Chief Agriculture Officer Kishtwar, Amjad Hussain Malik; District Agriculture Officer Kishtwar, Sanjay Sharma; DDC Member, Mr. Zaffarullah; Tehsildar Marwah, Gandeep Singh; Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Marwah, Manjoor Ahmed Zargar; and Subject Matter Specialist, Rakesh Padha, graced the Krishi Mahotsav with their presence. Additionally, Sarpanches and PRI’s from various panchayats in Block Marwah actively participated.
The primary objective of this program was to raise awareness among farmers in the aspirational block about the benefits of organic farming and various Key Performing Indicators (KPI), such as the saturation of PM Kisan, KCC, and the strengthening of Farmers’ Producer Organizations (FPOs). The event served as a platform to disseminate information regarding ongoing departmental schemes aimed at uplifting the farming community.
Under the guidance of the District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, the program successfully engaged over 200 farmers who displayed remarkable enthusiasm throughout the event.
During the occasion, Mr. Zaffarullah, the DDC member, and the concerned Sarpanches of Block Marwah commended the efforts and achievements of the Department of Agriculture. They acknowledged the positive impact on the farming community in the sub-division as a whole and Block Marwah in particular.
