In a determined effort to combat the scourge of drug peddling, the Doda Police successfully apprehended an alleged drug peddler in the Thathri area of Doda. The arrest was made based on credible information received at the Thathri Police Station.
The individual in question, identified as Harnam Singh, son of Duni Chand and a resident of village Chilly Pain Tehsil Chilly Pingal, was reportedly in possession of a substance resembling charas. It is believed that Singh intended to distribute the illicit substance to local youth in the area.
Acting swiftly upon receiving the information, a police party from PS Thathri conducted an operation, leading to the apprehension of the suspect at Tippri Morh Thathri. The arrest was carried out in the presence of an Executive Magistrate Class 1st from Thathri.
The seized substance, suspected to be charas, was confiscated from Singh’s possession, marking a significant stride in the ongoing efforts to curb drug-related activities in the region. A case under relevant sections, FIR No.103/2023, has been registered at PS Thathri, and the investigation process has commenced.
The Doda Police, in light of this development, urges the public to collaborate by sharing any information related to drug peddling in their neighborhoods. This cooperative effort is crucial for the police to identify and take strict action against individuals involved in such illicit activities, thereby working towards the eradication of the drug menace from the district.
