Kishtwar, December 4 – Two people lost their lives, and twelve others sustained injuries after a Cruiser vehicle (JK17 6576) met with an accident near the dam site in the Dangdoru area of Kishtwar district on Monday.
According to hospital authorities, the deceased have been identified as Arsalan (26), son of Mohd Abdullah, and Hilal Ahmed (23), son of Farooq Ahmed, both residents of Palmar.
Of the injured, five victims—Mansoor Ahmed (36), Masood Ahmed (32), Rahul (27), Manoj Kumar (45), and Yasir Hussain (27)—were referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu for specialized treatment, The Chenab Times has learnt. Two others, Gulfan Khandey (28) and Vinay Kumar (35), were shifted to GMC Doda, while the remaining five are being treated at the district hospital in Kishtwar.
The injured undergoing treatment locally include Bag Hussain (35), Ashok Kumar (45), Pardeep Kumar (37), Kewal Krishan (36), and Alam Ahmed Geer (35).
Officials said the cause of the accident is yet to be determined. Rescue efforts were promptly initiated after the incident, with local authorities and medical teams mobilized to provide immediate assistance.
