India’s NSA Ajit Doval Holds Strategic Talks with UAE President in Abu Dhabi

New Delhi – National Security Adviser Ajit Doval met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on Saturday evening to discuss the prevailing political and security landscape in the region and explore avenues for deepening the strategic partnership between the two nations.

According to details received by The Chenab Times, the discussions encompassed recent geopolitical developments in West Asia and their potential ramifications for regional and international security and stability. The talks also addressed concerns related to global energy security.

This high-level engagement marks the second significant visit by an Indian official to the United Arab Emirates within a fortnight. Earlier, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had visited Abu Dhabi, where he held comprehensive discussions with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed on a wide array of issues, including the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz and the ongoing conflict involving Iran.

During the meeting with President Al Nahyan, Mr. Doval also conveyed the warm greetings of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The UAE President was accompanied by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security.

The agenda of the discussions focused on addressing regional instability, ensuring the security of maritime routes, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz, and enhancing intelligence-sharing mechanisms between India and the UAE. Officials from the UAE stated that the meeting also deliberated on the evolving situation in the Middle East and its substantial implications for regional and global security and stability, as well as the critical aspect of global energy security.

Prior to his visit to the UAE, National Security Adviser Doval had undertaken a high-level tour of Saudi Arabia. In Riyadh, he engaged in productive discussions with prominent Saudi officials, including Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and National Security Advisor Dr. Musaed Mohammed Al-Aiban. These engagements underscore India’s proactive approach to strengthening its ties and coordinating on critical regional and global security issues.
