Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Inaugurates New ₹2.75 Crore Police Station in Srikalahasti

The Two Town Police Station in Srikalahasti, Andhra Pradesh, has a new, modern building inaugurated on Monday by Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha. The new facility, constructed at a cost of ₹2.75 crore, is equipped with advanced technology to enhance policing and public service delivery.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that the state government is prioritizing the safety of devotees visiting Srikalahasti, a significant temple town. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad, TTD Board member Panabaka Lakshmi, local MLA Bojjala Sudheer Reddy, District Collector Dr. S. Venkateswar, and SP L. Subbarayudu, among other officials.

Home Minister Anitha highlighted that the new building incorporates modern technology, aligning with the government’s objective to make police services more accessible, particularly to vulnerable populations. She emphasized that citizen complaints are now registered online and continuously monitored through a digital dashboard until resolution. This digital system also facilitates the tracking of cases, including bike thefts, by senior officers, ensuring a more efficient and timely response.

The Andhra Pradesh Police Department was commended for its proactive role in addressing public issues. The new station is designed to improve community policing and foster public trust, according to the Home Minister. The emphasis on technology aims to make police stations more accountable and responsive to the needs of the public.

Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad remarked that the modernization of police infrastructure is a crucial component of the state’s security and governance reforms. He specifically noted that these upgrades would be particularly beneficial for residents in rural and remote areas, ensuring they receive timely and effective police services.

District Collector Dr. S. Venkateswar and SP L. Subba Rayudu reiterated that Srikalahasti, being a major pilgrimage center attracting thousands of devotees daily, will continue to receive priority in policing. Security measures have been enhanced, with increased CCTV surveillance around the temple complex and other key locations. Special attention is being given to the safety of women and pilgrims during major festivals.

The construction of the new police station, spanning approximately 10,000 square feet, includes a CCTV-based security system and digital monitoring tools as part of the state’s ‘Ease of Doing Governance’ initiative. The integration of online complaint registration and digital dashboards is expected to expedite grievance redressal and investigations.
