The Delhi government has announced that it will provide free travel on all Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses for candidates appearing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2026 re-test scheduled for June 21. The decision aims to alleviate the financial burden and reduce stress for students appearing for the crucial examination.
Students will be able to avail the free bus service by presenting a valid admit card for the NEET UG 2026 re-test. This initiative is intended to ensure that no student faces any inconvenience on their examination day, given the significance of the day for their future academic careers.
The announcement comes amidst broader discussions and efforts by various state governments to support NEET aspirants. Previously, the governments of Punjab, Haryana, and Bihar had also announced similar measures to provide free bus travel for candidates appearing for the re-examination. This trend highlights a coordinated approach among states to assist students facing the logistical and financial challenges associated with the rescheduled test.
The NEET UG 2026 examination faced scrutiny earlier, leading to the cancellation of certain test centers and the subsequent decision for a re-test on June 21. Following these developments, there has been a concerted effort to ensure a smoother and more equitable examination process for all participants. The provision of free transport is one such measure aimed at supporting the students who have been working towards this examination.
This decision by the Delhi government is expected to benefit a significant number of students residing in and around the National Capital Territory who are scheduled to take the re-test. The move underscores the government’s commitment to supporting educational aspirations and ensuring that logistical hurdles do not impede students’ access to examinations.
