The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has apprehended an individual identified as Harinderpal Singh in Amritsar, Punjab, in connection with alleged drug peddling. During the operation, authorities seized 336 grams of heroin and Rs 9.19 lakh in cash, which is believed to be proceeds from illicit narcotics sales.
The Chenab Times has learned that the arrest took place at Akalgarh village, situated on Mehta Road near Jandiala Guru, a location within the Amritsar district.
According to officials, the seized heroin was reportedly intended for distribution within the region. The substantial amount of cash recovered further strengthens the suspicion that the individual was actively involved in the narcotics trade.
A case has been formally registered against Harinderpal Singh under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. This legislation governs the control and regulation of drug trafficking and consumption in India.
The NCB has stated that further investigations are currently underway.
