Srinagar – The Jammu and Kashmir Police has been honoured for its outstanding performance in facilitating passport services, marking its second consecutive year of recognition in this category. The force received the Institutional Performance Award for State Police during the Passport Seva Divas celebrations and Regional Passport Officers’ Conference held in New Delhi.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the award ceremony took place from June 17 to June 19 at Sushma Swaraj Bhavan in the nation’s capital. The Minister of State for External Affairs presented the Certificate of Recognition and Plaque of Appreciation to representatives of the J&K Police. This accolade acknowledges the department’s high level of service, commitment, and significant contribution to good governance through the timely completion of police verification for passport applications.
During the period of April 2025 to March 2026, the Jammu and Kashmir Police successfully processed a substantial volume of 1,64,354 passport application verifications. Officials highlighted that this accomplishment is a testament to the department’s unwavering dedication to providing efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric services. The consistent recognition underscores the police force’s role in streamlining administrative processes and enhancing public trust.
The initiative to expedite police verification for passport applications has had a direct positive impact on citizens.
