SRINAGAR: Eight personnel, including seven from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and one from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, sustained injuries in an accident involving a CRPF bunker vehicle in Shopian district on Monday evening. The vehicle reportedly rolled down on the Wachi main road in the Zainapora area.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the vehicle, identified as a BP bunker vehicle belonging to the CRPF’s 178 Battalion, was deployed at Police Post Wachi. Officials stated that the vehicle lost control and subsequently rolled down the road.
The injured security personnel were promptly transported to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Zainapora for immediate medical attention. The exact cause of the accident is currently under investigation, and further details are awaited.
The incident occurred on Monday evening, casting a shadow over routine security operations in the sensitive southern Kashmir region.
