In a shocking incident that has sent ripples through Mathura, a woman allegedly murdered her husband with the help of their minor daughter and her lover, a delivery boy, because the deceased reportedly disapproved of their relationship. The accused have been arrested by the police.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that Naina Soni, 40, along with her 16-year-old daughter and the daughter’s alleged boyfriend, Vimal Chaudhary, a delivery boy, conspired to end the life of Manoj Soni, 42. The motive stemmed from Manoj Soni’s strong opposition to his daughter’s relationship with Chaudhary.
According to the police, Naina Soni administered a sedative mixed with milk to her husband on April 18, rendering him unconscious. Subsequently, she allegedly bludgeoned him to death with an iron pestle. The grim task of disposing of the body reportedly fell to the daughter and Chaudhary, who allegedly wrapped the remains in a blanket and transported them on a scooter to a forest area near Akrur village along the Yamuna river. There, they are believed to have attempted to burn the body and bury the remnants near the riverbank.
Police officials stated that the rising water levels of the Yamuna River have made the recovery of the body and further forensic examination challenging. While a blanket was recovered from the alleged disposal site, ashes from burnt clothes and documents were found outside the family’s residence, indicating an attempt to destroy evidence. As of now, the case is being treated as abduction with the intent to murder, with murder charges to be added should sufficient evidence, including the recovery of the body or other corroborating material, come to light.
Investigators are currently conducting extensive searches in several locations within the forest area, meticulously digging to locate the victim’s remains and collect crucial evidence. The scooter allegedly used to transport the body, the blanket used to wrap it, and the signs of burnt clothing and documents are among the key pieces of evidence secured by the authorities.
The case began to unfold when Manoj Soni, a resident of Ganesh Dham Colony in Jaisinghpura under the Govind Nagar police station, was reported missing. His elder brother, Rambabu, filed a missing person report on July 11, several weeks after Manoj, his wife Naina, and their minor daughter had abruptly disappeared from their home following an argument on April 18.
During the initial stages of the investigation, the police developed suspicions about Naina and her daughter. The probe subsequently revealed the alleged illicit relationship between Manoj Soni’s daughter and Vimal Chaudhary, son of Ramveer Singh. Manoj Soni’s reported opposition to this relationship, his anger towards his wife and daughter, and alleged instances of assault against them were cited by the police as contributing factors to the fatal conspiracy. On August 7, Rambabu formally lodged a case under Section 140(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertains to kidnapping or abducting with the intention to murder.
Following their arrests, Naina Soni was remanded to judicial custody, while the minor daughter was sent to a juvenile home by a court. The ongoing investigation aims to piece together the full sequence of events and ensure that justice is served in this deeply disturbing case.
