These programs span critical sectors including Artificial Intelligence, education, sports, civil defence, semiconductor manufacturing, nuclear energy, and women-led development, signaling a forward-looking agenda for the nation.

AI Skilling Initiative for One Crore Youth
In a significant move to prepare the nation’s youth for the future of technology, Prime Minister Modi announced a nationwide program to impart Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills to one crore young individuals within the next year. He emphasized the rapid evolution of AI and highlighted the initiative’s role in equipping India’s youth with the capabilities to lead in the global AI landscape. This program aims to bridge the digital skills gap and ensure India’s competitive edge in emerging technologies.
Free Online Coaching for Competitive Examinations
Addressing the financial barriers faced by economically disadvantaged students, the Prime Minister declared the launch of free online coaching for youth preparing for various competitive examinations. The initiative plans to harness Digital Public Infrastructure, leveraging available talent and educators to create a comprehensive network for delivering high-quality coaching without cost. This aims to level the playing field, ensuring that students from poor and middle-class families have access to the resources needed to succeed in competitive academic and professional pursuits.
Nationwide Sports Talent Hunt
To cultivate sporting excellence across the country, a nationwide talent hunt campaign for children aged five to fifteen years has been announced. This initiative will scout for sporting talent in villages, cities, and schools, with identified children set to receive specialized training. The program intends to nurture future athletes capable of representing India on the international stage, with a particular focus on disciplines where India currently has limited participation or qualification, aiming to broaden the country’s Olympic horizons.
Vibrant Civil Defence Network
Recognizing the evolving nature of modern warfare and security threats, Prime Minister Modi announced the creation of a robust Civil Defence network. He noted that conflict is no longer confined to traditional borders and can impact critical infrastructure such as refineries, banking systems, data centers, and factories. The existing Civil Defence arrangements, designed for past conflicts, have become outdated. Therefore, citizens will be educated on modern security systems, and a large voluntary Civil Defence force will be developed to address contemporary challenges and ensure national resilience.
Expansion of Semiconductor Manufacturing
Reinforcing India’s drive for self-reliance in the digital and technological domains, the Prime Minister highlighted the crucial role of semiconductor chips. He stated that three semiconductor plants are already operational, with production commencing and exports beginning. Looking ahead, plans are in motion to establish an additional five to seven or eight semiconductor plants over the next seven to eight years. This expansion is deemed a vital pathway towards achieving a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India).
Nuclear Power Capacity Target
To meet the escalating energy demands driven by sectors like AI, data centers, and semiconductor manufacturing, India is setting an ambitious target of achieving 100 GW of nuclear power capacity by 2047. The Prime Minister announced that five new nuclear reactors are slated to commence operations within this decade. Furthermore, India has reached a significant milestone in fast breeder nuclear technology this year, marking a critical step towards self-sufficiency in nuclear fuel management.
Expansion of ‘Lakhpati Didi’ Scheme
Celebrating the pivotal role of women in nation-building, Prime Minister Modi announced an ambitious expansion of the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ initiative. The earlier target of empowering three crore women to achieve the status of ‘Lakhpati Didi’ has been surpassed. The new target is set at six crore ‘Lakhpati Didis’, a move anticipated to bring about a profound transformation in the rural economy through the strengthened economic power of women.
