KISHTWAR, March 26 – The District Administration Kishtwar held an Iftaar party on Tuesday, bringing together a diverse group of community members to celebrate Ramadan and foster peace and harmony, officials said.
The event, hosted at the TRC Kishtwar, was led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajesh Kumar Shavan, JKAS, who emphasized the importance of unity during the holy month. Attendees included senior district administration officers, retired officials, prominent civil society members, personnel from the Army, Police, and CRPF, as well as media representatives and employees from various departments.
“The Iftaar party is a meaningful opportunity to strengthen bonds across communities,” Shavan said in his address, extending warm Ramadan wishes to those present. He highlighted the role of such gatherings in promoting compassion, goodwill, and mutual respect among people of different backgrounds and faiths.
The gathering aimed to reflect the administration’s commitment to inclusivity and collaboration for the district’s progress, according to a statement from the administration. Participants shared a meal, marking a collective moment of reflection during Ramadan, a month observed by Muslims worldwide with fasting, prayer, and charity.
