After several hours of diligent searching, rescue teams successfully recovered the body of the young woman from the canal. The search for the second missing person, a man, continued throughout the day and into the evening, with teams combing the canal and its surrounding areas. As of the time of filing the report, the man remained untraced.

The power canal in the Kangan area, particularly near Gund, is known to have strong currents, especially during periods of increased water flow. Local authorities often issue advisories regarding swimming or venturing too close to such water bodies, particularly during the monsoon season or times of heavy snowmelt. Incidents of drowning, though infrequent, have been reported in similar waterways across the region, prompting authorities to reiterate safety precautions.
