Srinagar, June 22: A delegation representing Jammu and Kashmir’s education sector has achieved national acclaim, securing the first prize at the 15th Annual Conference of the Private Schools and Children Welfare Association (PSACWA) held in Hyderabad. The four-day event, which concluded on June 22, recognized the delegation for its significant contributions and innovative initiatives in education.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the award was presented to the Jammu and Kashmir delegation amidst participation from various states. This recognition highlights the substantial efforts undertaken by private educational institutions and stakeholders within the Union Territory to advance the quality of education and enhance student welfare. The conference provided a national platform for educationists, school administrators, policy experts, and child welfare advocates to convene and discuss critical aspects of inclusive and holistic education, child welfare, educational leadership, and evolving learning ecosystems.
The delegation was led by Dr. Baba Nazrul Islam, President of PSACWA Jammu and Kashmir. Expressing gratitude to the conference organizers, Dr. Islam described the award as a testament to the dedication and commitment of educators and school leaders across Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized the imperative for collaborative endeavors to further strengthen educational quality, foster innovation, ensure equity, and promote child welfare throughout the region.
During the conference, members of the delegation engaged with officials from Mimber Academy in Hyderabad, visiting its institutions to observe the academy’s “My Young Scientist” Laboratory Development Initiative. This initiative aims to foster scientific learning through innovative laboratory experiences. The delegation also explored the potential for implementing similar science-focused learning laboratories in schools across Jammu and Kashmir.
Furthermore, the delegation held discussions with the leadership of MS Academy. These meetings focused on curriculum reforms, the development of future-ready learning models, and student-centric educational practices currently being implemented in various parts of the country. The interactions offered valuable insights into contemporary educational approaches, which are expected to contribute to enhanced innovation and institutional development within schools throughout Jammu and Kashmir.

Among them were Muhammad Yousuf Wani, Chairman of Green Valley Educational Institute; Anuradha Verma of PSAJK Jammu; M. Ashraf Baba, Chairman of Alexander Secondary School, Kupwara; M. Farooq Fazili, Chairman of Dolphin International School, Pulwama; Arshid Mehraj Khan, Chairman of National Innovations Public School, Zainapora; Fayaz Ahmad, Chairman of International Delhi Public School, Bandipora; Mudassir Mushtaq, Chairman of Oxford International School; Altaf Maqbool Bhat, Chairman of Dream Valley Educational Institute Tangdar; Mustafa Bashir Bhat, Chairman of Al Noor English Medium Public School Lolab; Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh, Administrator of Bright Career Educational Institute Villagam; Muneer Mohiuddin Sheikh, Chairman of Abu Bakar Educational Foundation Kralpora; and Nazir Ahmad Malik, Chairman of Crescent School of Learning, Kralpora.
