Bhalessa-Bunjwah-Thathri Journalists Association on Saturday conducted elections in which Firdous Khanday was elected as president of the association,Ishtiyak Malik elected Gen. Secretary,Rafi Choudhry elected as Chief advisor, Mohammed Saleem elected as vice president,Ravi Vanshi also elected as vice president,Akram Malik as joint secretary,Shafqat Sheikh as Spokesperson, Arjun Thakur as publicity secretary,A Ayoob as advisor,Bilal Bhalessi and Ishtiyak Batt as Organisers,Baber Nafice,Arif Malik and Ishrat Ali as executive members of the association.
“After his victory, Firdous Khanday assured his members that he will take up the issues related to electronic or print media at proper fora at the earliest. He said that the media persons are facing lot of hardships during the country wide lockdown of COVID-19 pendemic.He lauded the effort of working during Covid-19 and they need to stand united to face such challenges.He also said that the body is valid for one year only,” the spokesperson added.
Speaking on the occasion vice president Mohammed Saleem said that the district administration Doda and Kishtwar must appreciates and encourage the works of Journalists during Covid 19 pandemic.
During the course of meeting they appealed general public for wearing of masks and maintaining of social distance to avoid the spread of Covid 19 pandemic.
