The victim, known as Sweety, was allegedly strangled to death by her husband, Dharamveer, who had reportedly paid Rs 70,000 for her hand in marriage. Accompanying him in this heinous act were his accomplices, Arum and Satyavan. Swift police action led to the arrest of all three individuals.
The grim discovery unfolded on a serene Saturday morning, when an unsuspecting passerby stumbled upon Sweety’s lifeless body nestled amidst the foliage of a forest near the Jheel Khurd border in Fatehpur Beri. Authorities were promptly alerted, and law enforcement swiftly took control of the scene. Shedding light on the somber details, Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) Chandan Chowdhary recounted the shocking sequence of events.
In their relentless pursuit of truth, investigators turned to both cutting-edge technology and meticulous fieldwork to reconstruct the puzzle surrounding Sweety’s tragic fate. Suspicion fell upon an innocuous autorickshaw, which had been witnessed meandering the vicinity around 1:40 am on the fateful day.
This slender thread of evidence led the meticulous trail to Arun, an auto-rickshaw driver hailing from Chhatarpur. In a heart-wrenching account, Arun unraveled the chilling narrative behind the murder. Sweety’s own spouse, Dharamveer, allegedly found himself discontented with her behavior, particularly her proclivity to vanish for extended durations without notice.
Within Arun’s testimony lay a stark revelation – Sweety’s nuptial bond was forged through a financial transaction of Rs 70,000 with an undisclosed woman, obscuring her familial background. The victim herself divulged scarce information about her origins, merely hinting at Patna in Bihar as her hometown.
The trio of assailants handpicked the forested expanse straddling the Haryana border as the backdrop for their nefarious act, an area which Arun was well-acquainted with, thereby facilitating their sinister agenda.
The wheels of justice were set in motion with a case registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, encompassing charges of murder, obstruction of evidence, and shared intention. The Fatehpur Beri police station now stands as the epicenter of a rigorous investigation.
