Kishtwar: In celebration of International Girl Child Day, Women Grievance redressal Cell, Government Degree College (GDC) Kishtwar organized a lively and informative debate competition that aimed to empower and inspire young girls. The event was held on October 11, 2023, and was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Jyoti Parihar, the Principal of GDC Kishtwar, as the Chief Guest.
Dr. Jyoti Parihar, in her address, emphasized the significance of International Girl Child Day and underscored the importance of providing equal opportunities and support to young girls. She highlighted the need to create a conducive environment for girls to flourish and reach their full potential.
Dr. Sehrish Gazal, Head Dept. Of Env. Sciences, passionately encouraged the participating girls to aspire for a better future and to break barriers that hinder their progress. Her words were a source of inspiration for the young girls in attendance.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Professor Sarita Parihar, who expressed her gratitude to all the participants, staff, and supporters who made the event a resounding success.
The participants of the debate competition displayed exceptional talent and determination. The judging panel, consisting of Professor Sonika Sen, Professor Madhu Bala, and Professor Ajay, had the challenging task of adjudging the participants. After thoughtful deliberation, the results were as follows:
Shewata Sharma clinched the prestigious first prize, demonstrating remarkable eloquence and critical thinking. Shivani earned the well-deserved second prize, while Aditi Sharma was honored with the third prize. These exceptionally talented young girls captivated the audience with their impressive communication skills, leaving a lasting and inspiring impression on all those in attendance.
