6 Policemen resigned from jobs after abduction and killing of three Cops in south Kashmir.

Reportedly dozens resigned on Social media/Letter to Masjid

The policemen in three districts– Shopian, Kulgam and Pulwama- took to social media to announce their resignations.


At least six policemen announced their resignations from their jobs in three districts of  south Kashmir following the abduction and killing of three policemen by suspected militants in Shopian district.

The policemen who announced their resignations identified themselves as Nawaz Ahmad Lone (SPO) of Tengam Kulgam, Shabir Ahmad Thokar (SPO) of Samnoo Kulgam, Tajallah Husssain (SPO) of Heepora Butgund, Shopian, Umar Bashir (SPO) of Kapran Shopian, Irshad Ahmad Baba (constable) of Dangam, Shopian and Naseer Ahmad (SPO) of Wahibug Pulwama.
Three policemen – Firdous Ahmad Kuchay, Kulwant Singh and Nisar Ahmad – were abducted and killed by the militants in south Kashmir’s Shopian on Friday morning, police said.

It is important to mention here that, Reports on social media said that 20 to 40 Policemen resigned from service after killing of 3 SPO’s in which 6 Policemen declared  confirmed and others on facebook and many have reportedly send letters to Masjids on Friday.
