The Inter- District Volley Ball Tournament for U-19 girls concluded at Sports Stadium Doda here today.
The concluding function was attended by the Shoket Ali KPS, DSP (DAR) Doda.
The chief guest while addressing the gathering of the intellectuals, prominent citizens and PELs, PEMs, PETs, REKs and NYCs department of Youth Services & Sports Doda appreciating the efforts of the organizers for having organized the tournament successfully.
He highlighted the importance of sports for the physical and mental development of the youth and said that these activities help a great deal in channelizing their energy in a positive direction and also keep them free from social evils.
He said that the volleyball is the safest game for the girls and asked other girls to come forward and play this game and strive for the nation.
Later, Shoket Ali DSP alongwith Jaffer Haider Sheikh DYSSO Doda distributed trophies and certificates to the winner and runner-up teams.
The endeavour of Jaffer Haider Sheikh DYSSO Doda were highly appreciated acclaimed and praised by Chief Guest.
The results of 1st semi-final Volley Ball
District Kathua defeated District Doda by 2.0 sets and 2nd semi final
District Udhampur thrashed District Poonch by 2.1 sets.
The final Volley Ball in
District Udhampur thrashed District Kathua by 3.0 Sets.
The matches were officiated by Murtaza Qadir PET, Muddasar Maqbool Butt PET, Vinod Kumar PEM, Dara Singh PET, Ishtiaq Hussain REK, Zahoor Ilahey PET and Imran REK.
