Govt teacher from Bhaderwah arrested with 38 quarters of illicit liquor 

A government teacher was arrested with 38 quarters of JK Special Whisky by Jammu and Kashmir Police in Bhaderwah.

According to a press release issued to The Chenab Times, a police party led by PSI Avinash Khajuria of Police Station Bhaderwah laid a special naka at Seri Bazaar Bhaderwah and started checking vehicles. During Naka checking, one vehicle (car) bearing registration No. JK06 5413 was stopped and checked thoroughly. During the check, 38 quarters of JK Special Whisky were recovered from the possession of the said accused person, which he had carried in the vehicle for selling purposes illegally in the general area of Nalthi Bhaderwah. After questioning, the accused person disclosed his name as Ajay Manhas, son of Tek Chand, resident of Nalthi Bhaderwah, a Govt. Teacher posted in Upper Primary School Nalthi Bhaderwah.

“In this regard, a case FIR No. 156/2022 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act stands registered at Police Station Bhaderwah and investigation has been taken up,” it further reads.
