Government Appoints Several JKAS Officers as Sub-Divisional Magistrates in Recent Reshuffle

In a recent development, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a transfer and posting order, a copy of which is available with The Chenab Times, for nine JKAS (Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service) officers. The order, numbered 639-JK(GAD) of 2023, dated 31-05-2023, outlines the reshuffling of officials across various departments and locations within the region.

One of the significant changes includes the transfer of Mr. Vikas Dhar Bagati JKAS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Thanamandi, who will now assume the role of Personnel Officer in the Directorate of School Education, Jammu. This move aims to bring fresh perspectives and administrative expertise to the education sector.

Mr. Shafiq Ahmad, JKAS, who was awaiting orders of adjustment in the General Administration Department, has been appointed as the new Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Thanamandi. In addition to his regular responsibilities, he will also be entrusted with the charge of Sub-Registrar, Thanamandi, until further notice.

Furthermore, Mr. Umesh Sharma, JKAS, previously serving as Deputy Secretary to the Government, School Education Department, has been transferred to the position of Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Bhawan, Katra. This change comes as Mr. Sudhir Bali, JKAS, awaits further orders of adjustment in the General Administration Department.

In a move aimed at leveraging existing talent, Ms. Sunaina Saini, JKAS, Deputy Director of Hospitality and Protocol (Stores), has been transferred and posted as Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Ghagwal. She will also assume the additional responsibility of Sub-Registrar, Ghagwal, alongside her current duties until further instructions are given.

Another notable transfer is that of Mr. Shokat Hayat Matoo JKAS, who previously served as Tehsildar Bhaderwah. He has now been appointed as Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Chatroo, where he will also hold the charge of Sub-Registrar, Chatroo, until further notice.

Ms. Seema Parihar, JKAS, Deputy Director of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Jammu, has been transferred and posted as Sub-Divisional Magistrate, R.S. Pura. She takes over from Mr. Ram Lal Sharma, JKAS, who will await further orders of adjustment in the General Administration Department. In addition to her current responsibilities, Ms. Parihar will also assume the role of Sub-Registrar, R.S. Pura.

Mr. Tariq Ahmad Malik, JKAS, previously awaiting orders of adjustment in the General Administration Department, has been appointed as the new Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Khansahib. He will also hold the charge of Sub-Registrar, Khansahib, in addition to his primary duties until further instructions are provided. Mr. Syed Ahmad Kataria, JKAS, who held the previous position, will also await further orders of adjustment in the General Administration Department.

Mr. Rajesh Kumar, JKAS, currently serving as Personnel Officer in the Directorate of School Education, Jammu, has been transferred and posted as Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Vijaypur. This reallocation aims to enhance administrative efficiency in the region.

Lastly, Mr. Nagesh Singh, JKAS, who was awaiting orders of adjustment in the General Administration Department, has been appointed as Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Jammu (North). This appointment fills an available vacancy within the department.
