In a heart-wrenching incident, a 13-year-old Madrasa student identified as Baber Hussain, son of Mohd Rafiq and a resident of Naan Chabba in Kahara tehsil of Doda district, tragically lost his life after being hit by a vehicle. The incident occurred near the Kahara-Malanoo Bridge while the vehicle was on its route from Malanoo to Kahara. The vehicle, bearing registration number JK06B 1153, was reportedly travelling at a normal speed at the time of the accident.
According to eyewitnesses, the young boy unexpectedly appeared in front of the vehicle, giving the driver very little time to react. Despite the driver’s attempt to avoid the collision, the vehicle collided with Baber, causing him to suffer severe head injuries. As a result of the impact, the boy fell onto the road, and immediate medical attention was required.
Eyewitnesses told The Chenab Times that the vehicle driver demonstrated a responsible and compassionate response. Realizing the severity of the situation, the driver promptly transported the injured boy to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Thathri for urgent medical treatment.
However, despite the driver’s prompt action and the best efforts of medical staff at CHC Thathri, Baber Hussain was declared brought dead upon arrival at the hospital. The tragic incident has left the entire community in shock and mourning.
Following the unfortunate accident, police registered a case under the relevant sections of the law.
