According to details received by The Chenab Times, residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during this period. The Meteorological Department predicted generally cloudy skies with wet weather coinciding with the onset of Chillai-Kalan, the harshest winter phase.
The snow and rain is likely as Kashmir braces for Chillai-Kalan starting December 21. Higher elevations may see moderate to heavy snowfall, while plains could experience rain.
The spell ends a prolonged dry period, with light to moderate snowfall over higher reaches. Authorities urged caution on roads prone to slips.
