Jammu, March 30: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah extended greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of Mahavir Jayanti, observed annually to commemorate the birth of Lord Mahavir.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the Lieutenant Governor, in his message, emphasized the profound teachings of Bhagwan Mahavir, including Ahimsa (non-violence), Satya (truth), compassion, and humility, describing them as a guiding light for humanity. He urged citizens to rededicate themselves to these ideals and commit to selfless service for the upliftment of the downtrodden and the collective welfare of society.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah highlighted the rich legacy of Jammu and Kashmir in celebrating festivals and sacred occasions with unity and harmony. He appealed to the public to further strengthen this tradition, noting that such events provide an opportunity to deepen bonds of love, reinforce communal harmony, and promote brotherhood across society.
The Chief Minister also offered prayers for sustained peace, prosperity, and progress for Jammu and Kashmir and the nation.
