Jammu and Kashmir: NIA Attaches Land of Accused in Pulwama Terror Case

Srinagar, April 23: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached a parcel of land belonging to an individual accused in a 2020 terror-related case in the Pulwama district of south Kashmir. The action, officials stated on Thursday, was carried out in the Abhama-Draklarun area of Rajpora.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that an NIA team affixed a public notice at the site, indicating the attachment of an immovable property measuring three kanals and four marlas under relevant legal provisions. This measure is linked to an ongoing investigation into the case.

The attached property is registered to Tanveer Ahmad Wani, who is identified by the alias Bardana and is the son of Ghulam Ahmad Wani. Wani is an accused in case RC-01/2020/NIA/JMU. The attachment has been executed in accordance with Section 33(1) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, following an order issued by the Special NIA Court in Jammu on January 2, 2026.

Officials elaborated that this action is part of the continuing proceedings in the case, which involves allegations of providing logistical support to militant elements. The NIA had registered the case in 2020, investigating a conspiracy involving militants and their associates operating within Jammu and Kashmir. The investigation has since led to multiple arrests and subsequent legal actions, including the attachment of properties linked to the accused individuals. Further legal proceedings in the matter are reportedly underway.
