Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday lauded Operation Sindoor as a significant demonstration of the Indian armed forces’ swift and precise joint response to safeguard national interests. Addressing the ongoing joint military commanders’ conference in Jaipur, Singh emphasised the necessity for the military to remain perpetually ready to counter evolving security challenges.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the conference involved a comprehensive review of the combat preparedness of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force in light of the prevailing regional security landscape. Singh described Operation Sindoor as a symbol of India’s burgeoning capabilities and a reflection of the nation’s collective resolve and its new military ethos.
The Defence Minister urged the commanders of all three services to adopt a future-ready approach, drawing lessons from Operation Sindoor and the current global security environment. He highlighted the imperative to bolster capabilities in areas such as artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, data analytics, and secure communication networks to maintain an edge in the dynamically changing geopolitical security scenario.
According to an official readout, Singh underscored that future conflicts are increasingly likely to be influenced by hybrid threats, the pursuit of information dominance, and operations conducted concurrently across cyber, space, electromagnetic, and cognitive domains. He stressed the importance of ensuring integrated national preparedness across all conflict spectrums, acknowledging the transformative impact of emerging technologies.
Singh’s remarks coincided with the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor. The readout also noted the Defence Minister’s appreciation for the advancements made in fostering jointness, integration, and technological adoption across the three services. He stated that jointness is a critical component of the transformative changes occurring within the global defence sector.
“Future wars will not be won solely through weaponry, but through innovative thinking and enhanced synergy,” Singh remarked. He encouraged the commanders to cultivate the element of surprise to keep adversaries unpredictable and maintain a strategic advantage. Concurrently, he cautioned them to remain vigilant against the enemy’s potential for surprise, advising them to always remain two steps ahead.
The Defence Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing the defence forces’ capabilities through the acquisition of state-of-the-art weaponry and platforms. He also indicated that special emphasis is being placed on research and development in niche defence domains.
