Three individuals lost their lives and four others sustained injuries on Sunday afternoon following a collision between a truck and an autorickshaw in Uttar Pradesh. The accident occurred on Sunday afternoon, prompting immediate response from local authorities.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that the truck was traveling from the direction of Jalalabad, while the autorickshaw was proceeding from the opposite side. The force of the impact led to the immediate deaths of Ramkshatriya, aged 28, an unidentified woman estimated to be around 40 years old, and Kallu, aged 45. These individuals were declared deceased at the scene.

Upon receiving news of the incident, police personnel arrived to rescue the four injured individuals. They were promptly transported to the government medical college to receive necessary medical attention. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examinations to ascertain the exact causes of death, as confirmed by Superintendent of Police Saurabh Dixit.

Authorities have reported that the driver of the truck fled the location of the accident. The vehicle involved in the collision has been seized by the police. Efforts are currently underway to apprehend the driver and investigate the circumstances leading to the crash.

Road safety officials have reiterated calls for caution among drivers, especially on inter-district routes where high-speed vehicle traffic is common. Collisions involving heavy vehicles and smaller passenger transport such as autorickshaws have been a recurring concern in various parts of the state, prompting authorities to review traffic management strategies and enforce speed limits more stringently.

The incident highlights the ongoing challenges in ensuring road safety across Uttar Pradesh, a state with a high volume of road traffic due to its extensive population and vast network of roadways. Investigations into the precise cause of the collision, including potential factors such as speed, road conditions, and driver behavior, are expected to be conducted by the police. The recovery and medical treatment of the injured remain a priority for the local administration, which has pledged support to the families of the deceased.
