Uttar Pradesh Father Kills Daughter, Dismembers Body Over Interfaith Relationship Fears

Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh – A shocking incident has emerged from Uttar Pradesh where a father allegedly murdered his 15-year-old daughter and dismembered her body into six parts, driven by suspicions of an interfaith relationship. The accused, Biggan Ansari, has been arrested along with his sister, Noorjahan, and brother-in-law, Mojibulla Ansari, for their alleged involvement in the gruesome act.

Discovery of Dismembered Remains

Information was available with The Chenab Times indicating that the discovery of the victim’s remains began when the train cleaning staff at Gomti Nagar station in Lucknow found a suspicious box and a bag inside coach S-1 of train number 15114, the Chhapra-Gomti Nagar Express, on May 17. Upon inspection, the torso and other body parts were recovered. The victim’s head was later found in a pond in Kushinagar, and her hands and legs were discovered packed separately in polythene bags.

Police Investigation and Arrests

The Government Railway Police (GRP) officials immediately launched an investigation, with Superintendent of Police (Railways) Rohit Mishra forming three teams to identify the victim and apprehend the culprits. Investigators meticulously reviewed approximately 800 CCTV camera footages from various stations along the train’s route. This extensive surveillance operation led them to track suspicious movements at the Tamkuhi Road railway station in Kushinagar district.

CCTV footage from Tamkuhi Road station revealed two men and a woman carrying a box to the train. The footage showed them placing the box inside a sleeper coach before boarding a different compartment and alighting from the train. This crucial evidence played a significant role in identifying the suspects.

Confession and Motive

During interrogation, Biggan Ansari, a resident of Jaipur Tola under the Sevarhi police station area, reportedly confessed to the crime. According to the police, Ansari harboured strong suspicions that his daughter, Shaba, was communicating with a man from a different community. He expressed fears that she might enter into a love marriage, mirroring the situations of his two elder daughters who had previously married men from different communities. This fear and perceived threat to his family’s honour appears to have been the primary motive behind the heinous act.

Circumstances of the Murder

The police detailed that the accused allegedly assaulted the girl first. Following this, when she reportedly attempted suicide, Ansari allegedly conspired with his relatives to murder her. To facilitate the crime, the accused allegedly sent his wife and sons away from the residence before carrying out the murder. He is also reported to have purchased a new sharp-edged weapon specifically for the commission of the crime.

Following the murder, the accused allegedly transported the dismembered body parts in his e-rickshaw to the Tamkuhi Road railway station. From there, the box containing parts of the body was placed on the Chhapra-Gomti Nagar Express. A joint team of the GRP and local police later recovered the weapon used in the crime from a pond, based on Ansari’s confession.

Background of the Accused

Further background information revealed that Biggan Ansari had previously worked abroad. He returned to his village approximately five years ago and had since been operating an e-rickshaw. The joint operation to recover the body parts and the murder weapon involved extensive efforts from both the railway police and local law enforcement agencies, underscoring the gravity of the case.

The motive cited by the police, revolving around concerns over interfaith relationships and subsequent marriage, highlights a sensitive social issue in the region. The arrested individuals are currently in police custody, and further investigations are underway to ascertain the complete sequence of events and gather all necessary evidence for prosecution. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, prompting discussions on societal norms and the extreme measures some individuals resort to when faced with perceived transgressions against traditional values.
