SRINAGAR: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the results for the Re-NEET UG 2026 examination, with a significant number of candidates achieving qualifying marks for admission to medical courses across the country.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that over 11.21 lakh aspirants have successfully qualified for admission to undergraduate medical programmes, including MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other allied health science courses.
Candidates who appeared for the re-examination can now access their individual scorecards and check their performance on the official NEET website. The results are based on the final answer key released by the NTA.
The examination statistics released by the agency indicate that approximately 20 lakh candidates participated in the re-examination. Of the total who qualified, women constitute more than 58 per cent, highlighting their strong presence in the medical aspirants’ pool.
Further details from the NTA revealed that 138 candidates achieved scores exceeding 690 out of a possible 720 marks, indicating a highly competitive selection process. Analysis of the examination data also shows that over 93 per cent of the qualified candidates were appearing in the NEET UG examination for the first time. The age demographics of the successful candidates show that 99 per cent fall within the 17 to 19 years age bracket, reflecting the typical age of students completing secondary education and seeking entry into medical colleges.
The NEET UG is a highly competitive national-level entrance examination conducted for admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses in various institutions across India. The re-examination was conducted following certain administrative issues in the original examination.
