SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has announced the Chief Minister’s Award for Honesty, Integrity and Meritorious Public Service, recognizing five government officials for their distinguished service.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the awards, presented on the occasion of Independence Day 2026, acknowledge exemplary conduct and dedication in public service.
According to an order issued by the General Administration Department, the recipients of this year’s award are Kuldeep Krishan Sidha, JKAS, Director of Archives, Archaeology and Museums; Anil Sharma, JKAS, Additional Resident Commissioner for the Jammu and Kashmir Government in New Delhi; Amit Vermani, JKAS, Additional Secretary in the General Administration Department; Professor Naseer Iqbal, Registrar at the University of Kashmir; and Er Sami-Ullah Beigh, Superintending Engineer with the UEED, Jal Shakti/PHE R.W.S Division in Ganderbal.
The official order, designated as Government Order No. 1406-JK(GAD) of 2026 and dated August 15, stated that these accolades were being conferred for the year 2026. The selection criteria emphasized unwavering honesty, integrity, and commendable performance in public service.
Each official selected for the Chief Minister’s Award will be presented with a cash prize of ₹51,000, accompanied by a citation. The General Administration Department has formally communicated this order to senior government officials, police authorities, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, and the heads of various departments and public sector undertakings across the Union Territory.
