Unprecedented rain and hailstorm has once again damaged the fruit bearing trees,crops in Kuntwara Panchayat

Rattan Singh demands compensation for affected fruit growers, farmers

 

Vice Sarpanch Panchayat Kuntwara, Hiloor of Block Drabshalla Rattan Singh today expressed concern over the loss suffered by the farmers and fruit growers in Kuntwara area due to damage caused to flowers of fruit bearing trees and crops by untimely rain and hailstorm that occurred today morning near about 06:00am.

He added that the farmers/ fruit growers were fully dependent on the agriculture produce to feed their families, but due to untimely rain/ hailstorm, they had incurred huge losses and urged upon the Director Agriculture and Horticulture Jammu to compensate the loss suffered by the fruit growers and farmers of Kuntwara Panchayt at an earliest.

He further urged Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar to direct the field staff of Agriculture and Horticulture department to
start the exercise immediately so that farmers/ fruit growers would get due compensation.
